Loyalty Program Glossary
Plain definitions of the loyalty program terms used in Loyaltey: stamp cards, points, wallet passes, at-risk customers, POS auto-stamping and more.
- Digital stamp card
- A loyalty card where each qualifying visit adds one stamp, and a set number of stamps unlocks a reward. In Loyaltey it lives in the customer’s phone wallet instead of on paper. Stamp card templates
- Points program
- A loyalty program where customers earn points in proportion to what they spend and exchange a points threshold for a reward. Suits businesses where basket size varies a lot. Points for retail
- Wallet pass
- A loyalty card saved in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. Customers add it after scanning a QR code, and it updates when they earn stamps, so no app download is needed. Wallet passes
- Welcome bonus
- Stamps or points granted automatically when a customer joins a program, so the first visit already counts toward a reward.
- At-risk customer
- In the Loyaltey dashboard, a member who joined more than 60 days ago and has not earned a stamp in the last 60 days. These are the regulars a win-back message is meant for.
- Win-back automation
- A message sent automatically to members who have not visited for a set period, for example 90 days, to invite them back. Win-back for salons
- POS auto-stamping
- Awarding stamps automatically from sales recorded in a connected point-of-sale system, so staff do not have to stamp by hand. Each POS transaction is stamped at most once. POS integrations
- Unmatched sale
- A sale from a connected POS that Loyaltey could not link to a member. It is listed in the dashboard so staff can link it, after which future sales from that customer are recognised automatically.
- Receipt upload
- A way for customers to earn a stamp by photographing their receipt when they were not stamped at the counter. Available on paid plans.
- Cashier PIN
- A short code staff use to give stamps and redeem rewards from the counter screen, separate from the owner’s login.
- Stamp expiry
- A program setting that removes stamps or points after a number of days, so old balances do not stay open forever.
- Microsite
- A public page for a business on Loyaltey that shows its loyalty programs, contact details and a join button.
- Ad-audience consent
- A separate consent a customer gives before their details can be uploaded to Google Ads or Meta as an audience. General marketing consent is not enough. Ad audiences
- Break-even visit increase
- The percentage increase in member visits a loyalty program needs before its extra profit covers the reward cost on all member visits plus the software fee. Break-even calculator
