What moves over

• Customers, matched by email address, so nobody gets a duplicate account.
• Each customer’s outstanding points balance, credited one-to-one, which makes a points program the natural target.
• Enrollment in your Loyaltey program, so customers can keep earning the next day.

An import can be re-run safely: each customer’s balance is credited at most once, so a second run only adds customers who were not imported before.

What does not move over

• Marketing consent. Consent given to another platform does not carry over, so imported customers start opted out until they opt in again.
• Past activity history, achievements and tiers from the old platform.
• Notifications: an import never sends "you earned points" messages to your customers.

Coming from another app, a spreadsheet or paper cards

1. Export your customer list as CSV. Loyaltey maps these columns automatically: email, full name, phone, email marketing consent, SMS marketing consent.
2. Open Customers → Import in the dashboard, check the column mapping and import.
3. Only mark consent columns if you can prove the customer agreed.
4. Stamp balances are not part of the CSV import. For paper cards, the simplest route is to honour old cards at the counter and add a welcome stamp to the new one.

Steps for an API import

1. Create your program in Loyaltey (a points program if you are moving points balances).
2. Contact us with the platform you are leaving. We connect it with your API credentials and run the import with you.
3. Replace the old QR codes, widget or app links with Loyaltey's.
4. Tell customers their balance has moved and invite them to opt in to messages again.
5. Cancel the old platform once you have checked the imported balances.
